I just started getting a new warning from my firewall program today labeled as "Suspicious Behavior":

[b][i]Firefox is trying to set "FlashPlayerUpdate" to run each time your computer is started/i/b

The Flash on my system is up to date according to Adobe's site and the Plugin Check service at the Mozilla site. The message occurs on starting any flash video on any site. [u]This morning this was not occurring/u. The only changes that have occurred on my system between this morning and getting the "Suspicious Behavior" message from my firewall are: 1. Windows Update for August 2010 (manual) 2. the AV/AS updates from my security/firewall program (automatic, every hour).

I generally am very aware of new updates to Adobe and other products through e-mail subscriptions to various update advisory services and do not allow automatic updates of any kind on my system, except for the automatic hourly updates of AV/AS signatures.

[b]Is this some new behavior from Firefox?/b

I have dis-allowed the "FlashPlayerUpdate" as I am suspicious following the release of this item recently: http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/00001997.html

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8 Adobe Shockwave Flash 10.1.53.64 WIndows XP SP3 (updated thru August 2010 updates)

By the way, your new forum sucks.

Had to sign in 3 times, page would only reload after tapping F5 following sign-on, formatting for bold and underscore did not work as you can see in the message I posted. Then had to retrieve e-mail and confirm message.

You guys are making it harder and harder to get information and answers about Firefox.

Nevermind, got my answer elsewhere. Boy is it ever difficult to get signed-in to post a follow-up reply here. Think I'll just go over to mozillazine from now on.
