How do I get the message count to show up again?

dpg22

Thunderbird normally displays the number of messages in a folder, near the top of the screen above the list of messages. But somehow, clicking around, I lost that display of the message count and cannot get it back. Wondering if anyone knows how to get that number back, get it show up near the top of the screen. I'm using version 156.0.

In the main TB window press Alt or F10 to bring up the menu bar in case it is hidden. Then View (Alt-V) - Layout Check 'Message List Header'

This worked when I interpreted the first sentence to mean I should have Thunderbird open and on the screen (I skipped the part about Alt or F10). Many thanks!
