Problemi connessione server gmail

Many thousands of Thunderbird users have Gmail accounts. Please share your difficulties, including any error messages (in English) and someone here may have suggestions. I do agree, that it can be difficult considering Gmail's security issues, but this is not insurmountable. Please share your details. thank you

Ciao, anch'io con Thunderbird trovo qualche difficoltà con gmail. Dopo aver settato tutto ed avere tutto funzionante saltuariamente (ogni 1 o 2 giorni) capita che Thunderbird non si connette più automaticamente all'account gmail e bisogna riavviare Thunderbird quando quindi viene richiesta l'autenticazione Gmail che però aprendosi mostra come Thunderbird è già correttamente connesso per 3 servizi.....🤷♀

Okay, that's over my head, but it may be a network issue where Thunderbird times out. I say that because you indicated that the email works some of the time. That would indicate that Thunderbird is not the cause. Sometimes it helps to increase the timeout setting. To try that, here are the steps;

1. click to settings>general
2. scroll to the bottom and, on the right, is 'config editor'. click that
3. enter this: mailnews.tcptimeout
4. I think you will see the default setting is 100. Change to 250 save and exit
5. restart thunderbird and see if that helps. Also, recheck config editor to be sure your change took.
