As of 7/10/2025, Xfinity Streaming does not open through Firefox. I much prefer Firefox to any other browser so I am a little mystified as to why all of a sudden Xfinity Streaming does not open. I receive my Comcast email through FireFox but when it comes to streaming content, the Xfinity logo just sits there and does not open.

Hello,

We're sorry to hear that the page doesn't work as expected. In order to look for the root cause, please follow the steps below and provide us with more information to troubleshoot your issue.

  1. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon at the left of the address bar.
    • If ETP is enabled, try disabling it. Does the problem persist?
  2. If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache. Does it help?
  3. If it does not help, also try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website). Does it help?
  4. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. Does the problem persist?
  5. Finally, if the problem is still not fixed, please check if it persists in other browsers (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Opera or Safari).
    • If it does, it is most likely an issue on the website's side. You may want to inform the website owner or administrator about that.
    • If it doesn't, that's a compatibility issue. Please report it on Webcompat, so that our team there may be able to look into it. We'd also appreciate posting a link to your report here.

I too am having this issue with the Xfinity Stream site (https://www.xfinity.com/stream/) failing to load after updating to Firefox v140.04. The site works fine on Edge. I have tried the above troubleshooting steps and the site still fails. Here is the Webcompat report link that I filed: https://webcompat.com/issues/166556

For the record, the OP posted another question with more details:

Xfinity streaming works on Chrome and Safari but it stopped working on Firefox a few days ago. Why? I am using the latest Firefox version 140.0.4 (64 bit) and I can only receive my emails. The connection to the streaming service does not open. The Xfinity logo just sits there spinning and no connection. Please fix this. I much prefer Firefox to other browsers BUT....

Thank you very much for trying the steps and submitting a report! I'm not sure we can speed up the moderation process, but I want to make sure you have included all the necessary info. For me, the page loads, so... Is signing in required to reproduce the issue? If the answer is yes, it's crucial to provide an account for the Webcompat team to be able to perform testing.

The answer is yes, but I'm afraid Webcompat will have to find one of their team members who has an Xfinity video account to perform the testing. Giving them my access credentials would be highly improper and dangerous and would likely violate my customer Terms & Conditions.

Hi,

Since our Webcompat team has been able to reproduce the issue, it's now confirmed and tracked as bug 1977318. I was confused as the page was loading for me, but it turned out that uBlock Origin was somehow fixing it. Would you mind trying it as a temporary workaround?

Excellent workaround! It not only fixed the streaming page, but also other Xfinity account pages (e.g. Billing, Payments, etc.) that were only partially loading. I began using Edge for those pages as they are used infrequently. I have uBlock add-on installed, but it was deactivated for Xfinity sites in the past. I'm hoping your discovery will assist the Webcompat team in getting to the bottom of this problem. Thanks!

I'm also having the same problem. I tried all the suggestions listed above. However, nothing seems to fix the problem. I have sent a notification to Comcast. If there's anything I have missed, please tell me! Thank you

I spent an hour on the phone with comcast and they said it was a Firefox problem. I tried turning the uBlock off but that didn't work. It's frustrating because some of the channels on livestream work but others give me the "you must be logged in to your home wifi." It works perfectly on Safari so that's not the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

After weeks of not being able to sign in to Xfinity streaming I was able to do so today using the following procedure. CMD, Administrator, ipconfig /flushdns The next step was to go into Firefox settings, privacy and security, cookies & site data, click clear data, select cookies & site data and temp cashed files & pages. Click clear. I was able to log into Xfinity stream after that.

Clearing Cache and Cookies & History helped me and it works. I have current Mac-OS, Safari, and Firefox versions - it now works - but not sure if I have to go through this every time! Once is too many!

Hello,

The issue should be resolved now, and I can no longer reproduce it in the latest Firefox version. What about you?
