Synchronizing with iCloud CardDAV addressbook dies after two days.

I set up a CardDAV addressbook link to my iCloud addressbook. Everything is fine, and syncing works great. After ~2 days, it stops working and I have to generate a new app-specific password, delete my addressbook, and re-establish a new link with the new app-specific password. I tried to turn on CardDAV login, but nothing it written to the logs.

Has anyone run into this problem and how do I go about troubleshooting it?

I should add that my iCloud calendars all work fine. This issue seems to only be with the address book.
