Resolve duplicate installations of 88.0.1 on my laptop
I have 88.0.1 installed in c:/program_files/mozilla and in users/myname/appdata/local/mozilla. Don't know how that happened but how do I resolve this. When I go into Win 10 apps to delete the installations and order a new one for custom install, I am not given an option to remove, only to refresh. And also one installation shows in Win 10, not two. The exe files are in both these locations. I understand the profiles are in the appdata area, so it seems I need to delete the files in the other location, somehow.

I think Firefox might sometimes install under AppData\Local if you are not logged in with enough privileges to install under C:\Program Files. That should be very rare! If the AppData\Local installation is very recent, you may want to do a normal shutdown and restart of Windows to make sure any transient privilege issues are resolved before taking further action. Before deleting any installations, if you have Microsoft Office installed, I suggest changing your default browser to Internet Explorer. Within the Mozilla Firefox program folder, there is a folder named uninstall that has a program named helper.exe -- that is the uninstall program. However, I don't know whether running it will target the LocalApp install or the regular install, for example, maybe it will consult the registry instead of acting on the current path.
I would be inclined toward just removing the folder, but you could try helper.exe first to see whether it gives you anything different than the Add/Remove programs approach.

What is the exact location of this Firefox installation as is it possible that this is about a pending update that isn't handled properly (i.e. does this path have a 'updates' part) ?
My suggestions are 1) copy all your FF user data into the MSedge browser by invoking an import from it. This process will act like a backup of your FF user data. (but open edge to double check it has aggregated everytihng)
2) Nextly, uninstall all the FF's and if you like, delete all the remaining folders.
3) Reboot and reinstall 1 FF.
4) Afterwards invoke an import from MSedge, as shown in pic.
You should be back in business.
And if you desire, log into the FF sync and upload all your user data to your FF account. Then log out.

No, I don't see an 'updates' in the path. But both installs are in the path I originally provided with the profiles in the appdata/mozilla/firefox path.

I think this is the solution that will do it. However, Win 10 doesn't let me delete either firefox app, I would have to go in and delete the files in each path which might not be a good thing to do. I am updating my win 10 version so maybe the next one will provide an uninstall. It is strange that the firefox uninstall folder only provides a refresh option.

Yes. Helper did the trick. I thought it's only option was to refresh. One must select the next button to bypass and remove the app. Previously I did not get the next button, only refresh or cancel. How strange
