Using El Capitan. I always change the filename to include the rev number, so when I see it in the Dock I know what I'm using. I cannot change the name

I have checked Permissions & every user type listed now has read & write access WTF is going on?.

The current filename is Thunderbird 45-0-1, so I'm a couple updates behind in updating the filename.

correction, current filename is "Thunderbird 45-3-0" And when I look in the Finder, that filename was Modified about an hour ago, so its the file which was operated on by the Security Update.

And when I Get Info, the version shows up as Thunderbird 45.5.1

given the code signing requirements of OSX I would suggest changing executable manes may well be a recipe for disaster.
