opening a tab in tab group directly isn't an option
when I'm in a tab group and want to open a new tab, it always opens outside of the group by default. Could you add an option to open tabs within the group?

Switch it to verticle, andf no matter where any AI has told me to click and look for them the answers have been wrong, and when searching the support center directed me to a bunch of useless articles, the top one was literally "Use AI group naming for your tabs" or w/e.
Please tell me this is a thing, or honestly Ill go back to Chrome. They've got everything on me by now anyways.

I have 2 or 3 dedicated groups of tabs: email, work, and shopping. Each contains about 3-4 sub-tabs (or whatever the preferred terminology is). When I closed the browser on Friday, everything was normal. Imagine my surprise to start up Firefox this morning only to discover that NONE of the tab groups exist anymore. And of the 12-15 tabs total that should have been open (and have been every single time I've logged into Firefox for the past few months), only 2 were open. What happened? Is there a way to make my preferred setting actually stick? I do not want to go through this every single day.
For some reason my open tabs have no end they just go round and round. I have no idea what I have done. Any help please Thanks Steve

Firefox should open a New Tab using the last used container. It's intuitive and also useful for other reasons: When I click on a link in another app, it opens Firefox in the default container. Otherwise it's hard to "login with another container other than the default"
On my home page, it says I have 49 notifications

Currently if a user selects to turn Desktop Mode on, it is a switch that turns it on across the whole browser. It stays on for each new tab or window that is opened in Firefox.
What I am proposing is an individual Desktop Mode switch for each tab/window, so that only one tab or window is affected. Any new windows or tabs that are opened will revert to the default Desktop Mode setting (user changeable).
Does that make sense?
I only need YouTube in Desktop Mode on Firefox. The rest of my sites are fine in Mobile mode.

For some reason when I'm entering a url in the address bar it opens the site in a new window. I edited the about:config - browser.tabs.loadInBackground to TRUE and that didn't seem to work so I was playing around with browser.tabs.load....... setting to try and prevent switching to the newly opening tab. I thought I had solved it but then noticed when I was typing in he URL it caused a new tab to open up rather then using the current tab.
What are the correct settings for the about:config - "browser.tabs.load.." family of options to have an opening tab not automatically take focus when doing an "Open in New tab" from the bookmark menu and bookmark toolbar and have a typed in url address open in the current tab rather then opening it in a new tab?

Two days ago I closed FF and went to bed. I opened it the next morning and lost about 20 tabs. Ever since then, every time I restart FF, I lose all tabs except for one default tab.
TLDR: 1. "restore previous session" is not available. 2. Toggling Settings/Home and Startup does nothing. 3. Update? My FF automatically updates. 4. "about:sessionrestore" finds nothing,
1. FF help said I could go into History and click "Restore Previous Session" but that option doesn't exist. All I can do is look at History and see lists for today, yesterday, last 7 days etc.
2. Another advisory suggested Settings, Home and Startup, select "Open previous windows and tabs". but it was already selected. So I switched it off, restarted FF and then switched it back on. I still lose all tabs every time I restart FF.
3. Another advisory suggested, checking for updates. My FF automatically updates.
4. I tried "about:sessionrestore" It returns with the heading: "Sorry. We’re having trouble getting your pages back." Restore session is greyed out and "View previous tabs" produces an empty list. I've tried it a few times now, identical result.
Thanks for any help. Cheers, Andrew

Since doing a Refresh of my Firefox installation - I have noticed several changes in behavior.
target="_blank" has changed its behavior - it now causes the browser to jump to the new tab (regardless of ANY settings that may stop it changing) - the middle click business "SUCKS".
When downloading multiple links from an index file - it was just a matter "tab" - "enter" to work down the list. The new behavior causes too much tab jumping about on the screen - very wasteful of time and energy.
When I actually click a link on a page - the same things happen - too many clicks required to get the job done.
I generally download files in batches of 300 files.
Any other options are too time consuming !!!

Latest Stable Firefox, windows, over 4000 tabs. Overall Firefox works great for me. but when I restart it to install the latest versions etc, it only restores one active/loaded tab per window. Rest are restored, but in a closed/unloaded state. I usually have 5-20 open tabs per window, and hundreds more unloaded, it's how I work. How on earth can I get it to restore all the open/loaded tabs as they were, not in the unloaded state they default to?
Issue still occurs in a new install with no addons, default settings, under 30 tabs etc. Ditto Win 10 or 11.
Also, how on earth can I get official Mozzilla pages to use Dark Mode??
My setting is Home and startup -> "Open previous windows and tabs" on restart FF open one tab homepage.

As I am trying to make my browsing faster by minimizing the use of the mouse, I have come across an issue: if I search among all tabs on Firefox for Mac, either by "shift + command + A" or by adding a percent sign to the address / search bar, selecting a tab that is within a collapsed tab group deleted the tab group in question in this keyboard-based manner of execution. This issue leads to the unnecessary need to recreate the tab group. I have verified the issue at least with a collapsed tab group containing a single tab.

I've run into an issue on macOS where Firefox does not restore my previous session if I close the browser using the red "X" window button. I have the "Open previous windows and tabs" checked in settings.
• Scenario A: If I click the red "X" button to close the Firefox window and then reopen Firefox, my previous tabs are gone (except for pinned tabs) and a new session is started.
• Scenario B: If I use Cmd + Q (or Firefox > Quit) to close the application, my session restores perfectly upon the next launch.
It seems that closing the window updates the session state to an empty window, wiping out the saved session even though the application process is still running in the macOS dock.
Is there a way to configure Firefox on macOS so that closing the last window via the red "X" preserves the session tabs just like Quitting does?
