Successfully added monthly-repeating event for the first day of each month beginning at 00:00 hour with duration 0:00. These events correctly appear in another calendar (Google). This also shows there is no confusion between 'monthly' and '4-weekly'.
In Thunderbird's Calendar display, these events do not appear in day, week- and month-view modes, when the first of the month is the first day to be displayed. When the first of the month is positioned further into that view-mode's display then that repeating-event is correctly displayed.
The above happens in Thunderbird's Safe Mode with all add-ons disabled.

I've asked this before to no response. I JUST did a new search and found a users solution that I just tried to no avail. Which was to add the Provider for Google Calendar Extension, then unsubscribe and resubscribe to my Calendars! The old W7 version of the Calendar had the ability to have a Reminder EMAILED to oneself! That option with the new W11 version has disappeared! Can someone please ask the Coders to re include this option! THANK YOU! I 'LIVE" by this option! My Iphone 3rd party Calendar thankfully still has this option! But I would LOVE to have this back on my W11 Laptop in the Thunderbird Calendar!

I have been using Thunderbird calendar synced to gmail a/c on Linux Mint for many years and have been able to send reminder notifications by email. Recently I had to unsubscribe my calendar and reinstall to clear a fault and the notification by email function has disappeared from Thunderbird event notifications. Can you tell me how to restore that function?

How do I import *.ICS file in a reasonable amount of time. I have appointments in an ics file of less than 1 K in size, typically 700 - 800 bytes in size and they take HOURS to import and do not connect properly then to allow editing the appointment. This is from Baylor Scott and White, a major hospital system in Texas. If there is a problem with the imported file structure, please point me to the correct file structure. I like Thunderbird, but this part of the calendar is very frustrating. Clarence
Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me recover a local task calendar. Environment Thunderbird 152.0.1 (aarch64) macOS Local Thunderbird calendar (not Google, Exchange, or … (cytajśo wěcej)
Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me recover a local task calendar.
Environment Thunderbird 152.0.1 (aarch64) macOS Local Thunderbird calendar (not Google, Exchange, or CalDAV) What happened
Several months ago I deleted a local calendar because I believed I was no longer using it. Unfortunately, that calendar contained all of my Thunderbird tasks.
After deleting the calendar:
the local calendar disappeared from Thunderbird all of my tasks disappeared I have not created any new local tasks since then
What I have recovered
I have an older copy of my Thunderbird profile from before the deletion.
From that profile I have:
calendar-data/local.sqlite prefs.js
I inspected the SQLite database and confirmed that it contains 394 tasks.
The task records appear intact, including task metadata such as:
titles categories completion information recurrence tables alarm/snooze tables related Thunderbird calendar metadata
All of the recovered tasks belong to the same calendar ID:
8420c0c3-6b20-436c-a39b-d4183d2665e1
Current profile
My current profile contains only my two iCloud CalDAV calendars.
The deleted local calendar no longer appears in prefs.js.
Because of that, the task database appears to be orphaned.
What I have already tried Restoring the old local.sqlite Creating a new local calendar Exporting the tasks to ICS and importing them
Thunderbird reports:
"No importable items found in the file."
My question
Since the task records still exist in the original local.sqlite, is there a supported way to:
recreate the missing local calendar definition so Thunderbird recognizes the existing tasks, or migrate the orphaned tasks into a new local calendar?
If necessary, I'm happy to provide:
the recovered local.sqlite the current prefs.js any additional profile files
My goal is simply to recover the 394 tasks into my current Thunderbird profile without losing any data.
Thank you for any guidance.

Hey, I'd like to switch from Outlook to Thunderbird. I’ve already tried switching to Thunderbird once when I switched to Linux, but—now to my question: The most important feature for me is being able to use different colors in the calendar to mark appointments. I wasn’t able to get this to work on Linux, even with AI. Isn’t this option available? But if people are switching away from Outlook, surely a small feature like this shouldn’t be a problem?
Can anyone help me with this?

After upgrading from Mint 21.3 to 22.3, Thunderbird no longer offers me the option of setting email alerts for events. Details: - I have Provider for Google Calendar installed - I've tried adding my calendar as "Google calendar" and "On the network" but neither offers email alerts. (On the network works better for responding to invitations.) My current work-around is to go to the google calendar app on my phone and set an email alert after creating the event in Thunderbird. That works but is a pain. This worked before. I suspect it's more a configuration issue and less a Mint version issue.
How do I do it?
Event/task reminders do not appear when due. In the past they used to be displayed without fail
The question is very simple and I cannot add anything more.

A large list of participants will extend the content of the "Edit Event" window beyond the threshold of the window, making all checkboxes (Notify attendees, etc.) and part of the list inaccessible.
This will also affect the Description and Attachments tabs.
With a lot of moving and resizing, the window can be resized to show everything, but then it extends far beyond the size of the screen. This is impractical.
The list of participants should never exceed the confines of the window and should be scrollable.

My old Win 11 laptop died. So, since I had an SDD adapter, I removed SDD drive from the old laptop and connected it to my new laptop.
- I had already set Thunderbird on the new laptop so I have an existing profile. - I was able, using the Import tool, to get my address book successfully transferred from the old profile. - And while the old calendar name appears in calendar pane, I don't see any of my appointments. - I tried create placeholder calendar, then deleting all the other calendars and retried but still no luck.
I don't want to just copy and paste all the contents from old profile into the new profile as I don't need my old emails or email account data. So, what should I do? Thanks for any help in advance

In event creation in Calendar the options for repeat pattern are daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or yearly. There is an option to create a custom pattern, but if I enter every 28 days, because I want the event to recur every four weeks, it is over-ridden by the option above which is the repeat pattern, daily, weekly etc and the event appears daily. There appears to be no way to create an event that occurs repeatedly every four weeks (28days)?
Can anyone help please?

I'm on Thunderbird 151.0.1 (64-bit).
NB: I have been using app specific passwords for all steps with this.
I previously had nine icloud calendars - my own and those shared with me - synced into Thunderbird. Not all had events in them. Then all the events stopped syncing.
I unsubscribed all the calendars and tried to re-add them with the calendar specific URLs. Initially none of them would re-add.
Got a new app specific password.
Followed online tutorials to try using general login to https://icloud.com and https://webcal.icloud.com. Calendars detected, but would not add into Thunderbird.
Then back to calendar specific URLs, and the calendars are adding, but none of the events.
I've tried adding the calendar feeds to Outlook, which works, so I'm pretty positive it's a Thunderbird problem rather than an Apple problem. If it can't be resolved, I'll have to move onto Outlook, but it's a bad time to do that as I want to resolve some Thunderbird email chain dependent projects first.
Any help very gratefully received.
