I tried to email and the password to send that email used to be accepted and now that password isn't accepted anymore.

I am on Ubuntu 22.04.5 using Thunderbird 140.7.1esr (64-bit). After the latest update (from 128.12.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1) the notifications for mail has changed. Instead of just getting a notice, the notice now allows me to mark as read right within the notification (which is cool), but also now I am getting notifications when Junk mail comes in. Not a notification that it's junk, just that it is a new email.
I do *not* want these to automatically get marked as Read when they come in, as I do want to manually review them in case it's a mistake, and leaving them as unread in my Junk folder makes sense to me in order to make that easier. However, I do not want these notifications on each and every mail. If it's junk it should just silently classify it as such, like it used to. However, I cannot find a setting for this. is there a way to revert to the old behavior without rolling back to an earlier version of Thunderbird? Thanks!

Deleted tbsync account, created new app password, and then used Autodiscovery. No go. Used every possible combination offered by tbsync. Kept asking for another password. Dead in water. Filed a debug report. Also use every app password for years.

I use Thunderbird to store loacally some email from gmail and delete it from the online server.
Until october last year it was working flawless, to day I need to read an old email and I discovered that locally since october of some email is only stored the subject and somtime I only have the ticker that increase in the stored email email, but there is either not title or subject. I didn't change any setting in my computer or in the antivirus,, the only thing is that I perform the update of thunderbird as usual. Is it possible to recover these emails or they are gone forever?

BUT Thunderbird processed thousands of emails before choking on the single email that stopped it. What became of those emails? What do I need to do at this point?

I am using Thunderbird 140.9.1esr (64-bit) on a Ubuntu 24.04 system. Every time I restart Thunderbird, it reverts to a little used Gmail account as the default account. I have several accounts, but my main email account is a MS365 account. I reset the setting, but every time it is restarted, the default goes back to Gmail. I have tried everything that I've found online, but cannot correct this behaviour.
Do you have any suggestions or assistance?

Why has Thunderbird suddenly become very frustrating to use? An example which just happened - I was required to enter a 6 digit code to be able to confirm my account before I could submit this question. I waited, and waited and waited to see this code in my Inbox. Finally I went to my iPad to get the code, so I could submit this question. It was there as I expected, but not in my Thunderbird Inbox for another 10 minutes. This is happening far too often, so I am contemplating finding another email program which is not so frustrating.

In the Inbox, emails from different accounts appear twice—sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. These emails are not duplicates; in the folders for each individual account, the emails are all displayed only once. I don't have this problem on my old computer—same Windows, same Thunderbird, looks exactly the same. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Auf dem Handy werden Sie angezeigt und können gelesen und Bearbeitet werden. Beim nächsten öffnen der E-Mail App werdenSie gelöscht.
Welche mögliche Ursachen gibt es dafür.
