I tried that before I posted the question. It doe3sn't work except on incoming emails. My wife uses Windows Live Mail (Windows 7) and it is apparently automatic or it wouldn't be happening. I searched through that program to see if there was a command that might be comparable to one in a Mozilla program .... couldn't find anything. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
