How to change fonts used to display the list of emails on main page?

Looking at my inbox or other email folder, the font used to show the list of emails in the folders - is giving me a headache.

How can I change this font? Is there an add-on? Something in one's profile?

Ideally, I'd like to change the background white color too. (Maybe to the color on this page where I'm asking the question. This is easy to read, both font and color!)

I was a programmer in a former life, so I'm tech aware. I'm new to using Thunderbird (I've been using FF for several years.)

Fantastic. In less than 10 minutes, I have it installed, and adjusted.

Now I just have to figure out what font I want to use, but I've already set it to something that won't give me a headache.

I installed it but I can't figure out how to use it. I want to use it in Sea Monkey.

Please tell me where to do this? When I go to Tools and Add on Manager but I get lost after that?
