I'm not exactly sure what you mean by keyboard focus, but if you've misspelled an address and want to stop loading the wrong page just press [Esc].

i meant window or in this case area (i.e. url input area, page area ) have or have not text focus, thus can or cant recieve typed text

Does the F6 key work to bring focus to the location bar?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Thats the problem - i dont want to press or click something to be able retype url - its not usable. Just dont take focus off the url bar if user fails to url correctly

This what happens now: step 1- typing url, step 2 - pressing Enter (firefox takes focus from url bar and tries to load from url) , step 3 - noticing the url is wrong, step 4 - trying to retype, step 5 - noticing that page is failed to load (I khow that! I just typed wrong url!) step 6 - noticing that url bar does not recieves typing (What?!), step 7 - trying to acces why url is not typed in (WTF?!), step 8 - realizing the problem (Damn!), step 9 - taking mouse and clicking url bar. Return to step 1. This things, wile under hurry, can cause a lot of incovinience. More usabiilty!

After step 3 press [Esc] to stop the page from loading, then press [F6] to access the address bar again.
