I cannot download Firefox from Explorer 9 - it always crashes - help!
I have been using Microsoft Explorer and recently downloaded version 9. It is horrible and I cannot go back to 8 (it won't let me). I also cannot download Firefox because every time I try to download it Explorer crashes, closes, and then restarts. I need to somehow get the download to save to my USB key (flashdrive) and then install it on the computer. At least that is all I can think of doing - any suggestions?

I appreciate that you want to switch to Firefox! Here are my tipps:
- If you installed IE9 recently you might be able to revert to IE8 via a system restore point. The installation of IE9 should reflect in the name of the restore point. See: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx
- If IE9 crashes regularly you should also scan your computer for viruses!
- To download FF4 you can also try this link: http://hyperion.zih.tu-dresden.de/moz/firefox/releases/4.0/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%204.0.exe Its an academic website, so its fairly safe and probably free from viruses.
- You can also think of going to an internet café or ask a neighbour to let you download FF4 there.

Thank you for getting back to me. I didn't get your reply until after I had already restored my computer back a month. I have Norton 360 on my computer, it was the Explorer 9 causing the problems. Once the computer was back to Explorer 8 (I had to go back to the backup date before the date I downloaded 9 because it wouldn't let me do the restore) I was able to load Firefox and now everything is good. Microsoft really bites sometimes.
