Trashed emails are being deleted after about a month, how do I turn this off?

Using TB for many,many years under the POP system, when I trashed an email, it remained until I opened Trash and physically removed it. I had about 5,000 listed and would delete the oldest month on a monthly basis. When I switched to iMap, my trashed messages are automatically being deleted after about a month. I have searched account setting, but can't find any way to reverse this feature. I am running TB in a iMac running 10.14.6. Would appreciate any assistance. Thanks, Gary

Some email providers, such as Gmail, are set to delete trash after a given time, such as 30 days. I suggest checking your account online.
