Not loading external links
My mothers new phone won't load external links and mine does?
I have way more strict security settings and same extensions. She has 2 and I have 13 extensions but they overlap and are not the issue. When someone sends her a link her Firefox does not convert the link like mine does, she gets a link in format https://share.google/ + string of letters, when she opens it, it's a blank page. When I open the same link it converts it from that to a regular link (https://). I have installed Firefox to at least 3 other people and none have this issue. I don't have this issue on desktop either.
If it makes a difference: Out all the people that have this browser on their phone she's the only one that has a new phone with Android 16 (mine is Android 14). They are both up to date on both software and Firefox updates.

Hey Samuel,
Does the issue happen only on google shortened links? Have you tried switching connection (for example, from wifi to cellular data)

I have tested it a bit more since. Google shortened links are another symptom of it but none of the links she gets work. We haven't tested Wi-Fi as none of us uses Wi-Fi on our phones.
But the thing is- If I send links they work (except Instagram). To the point if she gets a link that doesn't work and I resend it, it works (my phone seems to fix share google ones?). I found a bunch of random links and sent them and they all work. But when others send them it's stuck in infinite blank/loading page.
What add-ons do you have installed on these two devices?
If you install a clean copy of Firefox for Android Beta and do not sign into your Mozilla Account in both devices, what happens?

Not sure what Firefox for Android Beta is but reinstalling Firefox from Google Play does not fix it (logging in or out doesn't make a difference)
Fresh install has no extensions either so it's not that
Google shortened link is actually a third party service which will redirect you to the actual page/website. I wonder if the issue occur in that intermediary process.
To test that assumption, can you try to see if the same browser can open the following link -> https://mzl.la/4tgZYVf ?
I'm using another link shortener service which should direct you to this thread via the above link.
My wife is having what seems to be the same problem on her Pixel 9a running Android 16. When this happens, it affects all tabs and links from K9 Mail, including the one Kiki provided. Rebooting the phone or killing Firefox in the Apps settings clears the problem (until the next time it happens).
One thing I noticed is that she typically has several (one or two dozen) tabs open, so I have suspected something to do with memory consumption, although I can't verify that.
