How to remove recently visited from homepage?
This is a privacy issue. The fact that Firefox is set up to automatically show all pages you've viewed is a huge security flaw as well. We don't want this feature! Just look up how many people have been asking to get rid of this (for years).
Is there a simple way yet?
If yes, please let me know how. If no, I will be boycotting Firefox and will simply not use it.

You can always Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox
If you want or need to clear your history every time you use Firefox, you can set it to happen automatically on exit, so you don’t forget.
Click the menu button and select Settings.
Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the History section.
In the drop-down menu next to Firefox will, choose Use custom settings for history.
Check the box for Clear history when Firefox closes.
