Problem with the migration of a profile to a new PC
Hello,
We are having a problem with migrating a profile to a new PC. We saved the profile on the old PC and then loaded it onto the new PC. When we open Thunderbird with the profile transferred to the new PC, all the mailboxes are displayed correctly and everything works as expected. Then when we close Thunderbird and reopen it, we see the mailboxes but in which no data is present. We have tried the procedure again by multiple means but we always end up with the same result.
However, this is a procedure that I have carried out many times within my company and I have never encountered this problem.
Do you have any suggestions please?
Thank you, Sincerely,

Is this a POP or IMAP account? Have you tried copying the profile a second time to see if you get the same results? Have you looked at the profile in windows file explorer to see the status of the message folders and compared them with the message folders on the copied profile? Is there an antivirus or VPN or firewall or similar software installed?
Hello, Thanks for the help. It's an IMAP account. I have tried multiple times with the same result. There is only the antivirus of Windows and no VPN. The problem still persist.
My first suggestion is to check the account online to verify that the messages are there.
The online account is not available anymore. The profile is only used to check old mails.
so, you just want to have access to the old messages and the account does not exist. Try this, - do NOT set up the account in thunderbird. being imap, since not online, the messages are immediately deleted, which is what you see. - instead, install the addon, importexporttoos NG. and then do this: - click Local Folders - highlight Local Folders - rightclick and select the importexport option to import mbox file - then, locate and select one of the message folders from the old Profile (such as inbox, but NOT inbox.msf). Look in the old profile under the imapmail folder and then then account folder. - repeat for each desired folder.
