Downloading Gmail labels/folders
I am trying to download emails in a Gmail label and send them to Dropbox. So I downloaded a label with Takeout. That got me a zip file in (unreadable) Mbox format. I translated the Mbox file with Thunderbird. That got me readable text files in Thunderbird. Then I downloaded the files to the desktop. That got me unreadable eml format files. How do I get readable files that can transfer to Dropbox? Thanks

What do you mean by readable? You could create PDF of each if you want it to appear without email headings.
I'm not sure how to do that. Further, there are 900 of them
An eml file can be viewed with most mail apps, and even with a text editor as a last resort.
The ImportExportTools NG add-on can export a selection of messages (without the attachments) to pdf files.
OK. But I want a format (pdf?) that is printable. Running through a mail app seems slow and cumbersome
That isn't an email function. If you do a web search for 'convert eml to text', there are many free online resources for that.
