How can I STOP MS from updating software when I am NOT FINISHED with my work, but I have to get some sleep?
Hi Knowledgeable People! I hope someone can help me out here. I'm gonna explain this as best I can and I hope someone can suggest a way to get thru this issue. I am so tired of MS coming in & telling me that they are going to update my system that night when no one will be using it (assuming that I sleep at night). There is only an OK button or the "X" out of the notification (which is what I usually do). There is NO button that says "NO You CAN'T DO it until I say it's OK". I usually then put my POWER option into SLEEP mode. Sometimes I use Task Manager to "crash FF" so I don't lose any tabs from any windows that are open. I've had it work before, but last night I forgot to shut off the WiFi in Windows (not the hotspot)—I'm not even sure that that's the reason it worked the last time.
Here's the usual scenario: I spend 2 days or more on taking a bunch of screenshots from a webinar so I can understand the process that I'm trying to learn. Those screenshots are cropped & put in the application folder (an older version of PaintShop Pro). I use the older version, b/c I can do it much faster than I can in the newer version. They send me this pop-up that they're going to install the updates "when no one's using it after hours."
So surprise, I come out here this morning and I've lost all my work (just under 100 shots) that was located in PSP's temp folder. ALL MY WORK is gone!
What can I do to STOP M.S. from installing updates when I'm not finished with the work I'm doing and I need to go to sleep? Thanks for your help!

Hi
This does not sound like an issue with Firefox, but is something that the Microsoft support forums might be able to help you with. This answer from their forum may be a good place to start, but I would heed the warnings they give:
