Hi, this seems such a basic question that I'm sure I've missed something but lately I find more and more company mailings arrive with with large animated GIFs, like video sequences of movies, which are really distracting and irritating. These are legit emails which I have subscribed to not dodgy spam!

So how can I get rid of the animations?

In Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor there is a preference, image.animation_mode, that defaults to normal. Right-click, Modify, and set it to once or none.

I haven't seen a lot of questions about this with TB, so it's probably best left in Config. editor, along with many other preferences. The same setting is in Firefox, where the issue may be noticed more often.
