I often select multiple messages for deletion from the combined inbox but when I hit delete, not all of them are deleted. I've included images showing selected messages and those remaining after "delete." I realize now that I have not tested to see whether I get the same behavior when working with only one inbox at a time. However, I have seen no pattern among deletions by account, with successes and failures occurring in each of the accounts.

Checking further, I find that this problem occurs only in the combined inbox and not when I work with only one account.

I take it you're using View|Folders|Unified?

I find this view mode to be buggy. It does things like this for me, along with not showing some messages, and getting the message count wrong.
