Using a Windows AD Domain. Approx 100 workstations. I'd like to check if Firefox is already installed, and if so, update it to the latest version. I understand there is an auto-update function for Firefox but it only runs if Firefox is running. We need to keep Firefox up to date whether it's running or not.

Any insights would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm not sure what version of Windows Server that you are running, but you may want to have a look at How to use Group Policy to remotely install software in Windows Server 2008 and in Windows Server 2003 from Microsoft for more information on deploying software remotely.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Wes, This solution requires an MSI package which Mozilla does not provide. Have you used this method to deploy Firefox?

You can easily convert the Firefox EXE installer to an MSI using utilities like MSI Wrapper, which would then allow you to use this method.
