Error: 550:550 5.7.1 Rejected - TRUSTmanager relating to a specific domain provider.

inkiesquid

I'm having a problem where I cannot send email using Thunderbird to my daughter's school from either of my main email accounts, both provided by Virgin Media in the UK, the domains are ntlworld.com and virginmedia.com.

This only affects my ability to contact the school which is on the local governments domain (newport.gov.uk) but I get the error " 550:550 5.7.1 Rejected - TRUSTmanager" stating that Thunderbird (or some domain provider along the route between myself and the school) deems those domains to be unsafe.

I can still send emails to the school through Thunderbird from my corporate account so I'm not completely without options but since it's not ideal to send from the business email address I'm trying to find a way to tell someone that the domain provider is safe to send to that email address (not sure if it affects all local gov't accounts as I don't want to spam-test them).

Any ideas or thoughts? VM weren't much help after 2 hours they tried to get me pay for 3rd party support since I can send the same emails via their webmail so it seems specific to TB.

Sorry for the wall of text, hope you can help.

Hi Toad-Hall,

Looking at the information that is produced, that will tell TB all about my computer and network (until I remove printers etc), is that right?

If so I'm not sure it will be of any use to them since I can use TB to send the same blocked email from my company email address but as mentioned TB blocks it from the other two.

If that's not the case and it selects the highlighted email and tells them the delivery history etc them yes, that's what I need them to be aware of in case it's not their software causing the blockage.

@Toad-Hall, Here's the requested info...

I need to see everything that is in the 'Mail and News Accounts section.

re :I'm not sure it will be of any use to them since I can use TB to send the same blocked email from my company email address but as mentioned TB blocks it from the other two.

There clearly is a difference and there is nothing in that section that tells anyone about your personal data nor email addresses or passwords or anything that is not generic info. It is just server names and what protocol and ports and whether authentication is enabled etc. Something is different, it cannot be your IP address because you can send from one particular email address so it is vital to know details about the server settings etc, thats why I need you to post the information.

No problem, hopefully what I pasted will be helpful. I didn't end up removing anything since I couldn't find anything relating to either fonts or printers so I'm sorry if it's an unnecessary wall of text.

the server settings show everything is authenticated and correct protocols used.

I've located info about 'TRUSTmanager' . http://apphelpweb.clearswift.com/en/policycenter/pcspamsenderlogic.htm

This is probably being used by the server used by local governments domain to which you are trying to send an email.

Test: Try sending an email using 'Plain Text' instead of HTML. If you usually use html, hold down 'shift' key and click on 'Write'. This will open a new Write window in Plain Text mode. Please report back on results.

Thanks for the info, I did try google but it wasn't being my friend and pointed to everything being TB security changes... I don't really want to send too many random messages to the school so I'll wait till next week for any reason that I need to contact them and then try the plain text approach and see if that gets through. I did try to upload the mailer-daemon error email in case that held the answer but the 'Choose file' button just crashed Chrome. If the plain text email doesn't work would it help to paste the plain text saved email? (After removing all the personal identifiable info about my daughter ofc.)

to christ1,

Sorry for the other duplicate post - Chrome was crashing when I tried to upload a file and I didn't realise that it had gone live.
