Videos are now automatically playing in Firefox (ever since the last two or three upgrades). This is very annoying, and sometimes startles me when Firefox has been idle for awhile, then all of a sudden a voice comes out of the computer. I have followed the procedure of disabling the media autop-play (in about:config). However, as others had warned, this causes problems playing videos from various web sites. So, I had to re-enable auto-play. Is Mozilla fixing this problem?

Too many negative reviews. Add-ons should not have to be necessary. As a few reviewers commented (for this add-on, and when I researched the problem a few days ago), Mozilla should fix the problem of HTML5 auto playing.

I might try it in a day or two if I don't receive other suggestions.

Thanks.

Sorry, but this creates other problems. As I mentioned in my original post: "I have followed the procedure of disabling the media autop-play (in about:config). However, as others had warned, this causes problems playing videos from various web sites. So, I had to re-enable auto-play. Is Mozilla fixing this problem? "
