right click on the folder you want to be the parent and select New folder from the menu.
what is a parent folder? I can't find a space or an icon enabling me to make a new folder.
Parent folder = the folder under which you want the new folder. No one said anything about a space. You right click a folder and select New Folder or New Subfolder depending on where you are trying to create one.
