I am not receiving emails from distribution lists but I do receive replays sent to all for that email
Emails sent to me from a distribution I am not receiving however if someone replies to all for that email I get the reply, I do receive emails sent just to me from the senders.

Thunderbird downloads messages that make it into your inbox on your providers server. If they do not make it there then Thunderbird can not do anything about that.
Go to your providers webmail site and check for the missing messages in other folders like Spam. Then work with your provider to get those messages into the inbox instead.
