Thank you for your answear, I had gone over the problem some other way, i.e. installed previous to my last one version of ubuntu which included firefox 37 or so, which had new sync system already. Thank you again, anyway.

hello, no you'll need a current version of firefox on ubuntu in order to sync it (older versions like firefox 16 used a separate old sync system, which servers are already shut down & which is no longer compatible with current sync).
