PC had to have reinstall of windows 10. After installing thunderbird, all of my previous & saved emails have been lost. Is there way to recover them.

My Windows 10 crashed and I had to have a new install. After reinstalling Thunderbird, all of my previous emails that I saved were gone. I thought my profile, setting, emails, addresses were backed up by Carbonite which restored my files, but I don't know how to find the Thunderbird files to restore my older emails that I saved. Can I restore them is my first question and secondly, if so, how do I do that. Thanks for any help or information you can give me.
