How to create a shortcut for Firefox with Windows 7
I want to create a shortcut to a particular website on my Windows 7 desktop. I am using Firefox 45.0.1. The usual solution of dragging the icon left of the address bar to the desktop doesn't work. It just attempts to move the browser window to that location. I've tried this numerous times on different computers. Neither does the CTRL-S solution work as suggested by question https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/961873. It just creates a folder on the desktop, not a short-cut.
Does someone have a suggestion that does work for Windows 7?

Dragging and dropping the new "circled-i" icon from the button to the left of the address should create a shortcut. Is that the one that's not working for you?
If all else fails, you can copy the URL from the address bar, then right-click the desktop and use these steps:
New > Shortcut > paste URL, click Next > Type a name for the shortcut, click Finish

jscher2000: Thanks for the clarification. None of the web-posts I came across mentioned the circled-i icon specifically, so I was doing it wrong. That worked like a charm!
