I use Firefox 42. I was visiting the Daily Mail news website. I was using a new laptop and I'm not used to the touch pad on this one. I accidentally clicked on an ad. It pulled up a site. It said that the site was suspected of having malware or something. I don't know if this was an attempt at social engineering or actual Firefox security measures. It said that it was analyzing the site. A loading bar went across the screen and said it found vulnerability's and the download box pop up appeared. I closed that tab and the download book was still there. I took a look to see if it was the real box that Firefox has and closed it. After a few minutes and then closing out Firefox my laptop says that there are no Wi-Fi networks available. I know that is not true because all my other devices detect many.

A couple of odd things to add. First that dangerous website is not in the Firefox history log. Second, I was downloading a patch for Star wars the old republic. It continued downloading after my computer said that it couldn't find a connection. That was the only thing that was able to connect to the internet. However after closing it, it is unable to connect just like everything else. I ran a full system scan with McAfee and it didn't find anything. I will restart my computer and hope for the best.
