Hi I am currently having this frustrating problem with latest version of Firefox. I can't download. I can't download programs. I can download files but no programs and also can't download alternate web browsers. I can't download certain files I need for programs like Quicktime. It either says "Failed" or the download just hangs and stops at about 10 seconds remaining. I am running Windows XP. Never had problems like this before. So annoying!

What Anti-Virus security software do you have?

It is possible that Anti-Virus security software is causing problems. Try to disable Anti-Virus security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that has effect.
