I painstakingly created about 20 bookmarks and added them to my home screen. I stopped some apps to make battery last longer. A few days later rebooted device samsung galaxy s5. All firefox home screen shortcuts disapperead.

Two questions: Do you use sync? And do you remember history on exit? If so, accounts need to be running to sync the changes to your account or you need to have a profile.

You should not need any of these for the device to remember you bookmarks. Just make sure you are not in guest mode and if you open a new tab the bookmarks should show up if remember history is on.
