Firefox takes too long to start

Ive been using firefox for years, but this week it started having problems when i started running the program to open the first window, it takes like 20 secods to open, i have a 12gb RAM, intel i7 2.8Ghz PC, with windows 7 at 64 bits....already checked my antivirus and added firefox to exceptions at the real time shield options...but its still the same, also ive already reinstalled it and doesnt get better... please help!
