How can I set to time zone used in the Date column of the Message List?
I have my operating system, and Thunderbird, set to the America/Vancouver time zone. When Pacific Daylight Time fell back to Pacific Standard Time on 1 November 2026, changing from UTC-7 to UTC-8 hours, our time zone remained unchanged at UTC-7 hours.
Now I observe that the Date column of Thunderbird's Message List display shows the date and time of each message converted into UTC-8. But the message date as displayed in the right part of the header in the message pane is displayed in UTC-7.
For instance, a message with the header `Date: Wed, 04 Nov 2026 09:27:27 +0000` shows in the Date column as "01:27" (today, 4 Nov), but the message date in the right part of the message pane reads "02:27".
I cannot find a control or documentation which governs the time zone used by either the Date column or the message date in the right part of the message pane.
How can I set to time zone used in the Date column of the Message List to use the America/Vancouver (or UTC-7) time zone of my operating system and of the Thunderbird calendar?

I do not know how to set the time zone used in the Date column of the Message List, but I did discover that upgrading my Thunderbird installation caused Thunderbird to start displaying the correct date/time in the Date column. It now matches the date/time displayed in the right of the message header pane.
I upgraded from Thunderbird 149.0 (desktop) to Thunderbird 153.6.0esr. After Thunderbird restarted, the date/times in the Date column were correct. Updating to Thunderbird 159 might also be effective.
I suspect that the cause of the difference was bug 2058419 "Update to tzdata2026e". I interpret tzdata2026e to be a recent 2026-vintage bundle of time zone definitions, including the correct definition for the America/Vancouver time zone to which my operating system is set.
