You need to recover logins.json and key4.db and copy those files to the current profile folder. I'm not sure why you would reinstall Firefox and remove the profile folder as well without keeping a backup.

You can look a utility to browse System Restore points to see if you can locate a recent copy of logins.json and key4.db.

Firefox uses two locations in the hidden "AppData" location for the Firefox profile folder. One location in "AppDataRoaming" for personal data like bookmarks and logins and another location in "AppDataLocal" for temporary files like the disk cache.

Primary location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).

AppData is a hidden folder.

Hi, co rel Thanks for your answer. I opt for uninstalling firefox after youtube videos show black screen and browsing becomes too slow and the audio rate becomes double slow I had not opted for refreshing,which would have kept a old firefox data on my desktop. I thought that firefox would save those passwords and i could recover. That was a bad thing, I imagined and I have chosen revo uninstaller to uninstall firefox. As I imagined, there was no firefox data folder and immediately started to browse the answer solution in firefox section. I came across experts suggest recuva to recover permanently deleted files and folders. But I could not find keydb or logins.json on deleted folders in recuva. So, I queried here. I will try to use shadow explorer to find.

hi, corel, I have downloaded both nirsoft and shadow explorer But how do I select the profiles and then the two files if it is there. Please help i browsed to the firefox profile folder, but then how to select which proile. I presume that I have to select the one recent profile which was used before uninstall of firefox. is it correct i had to look for those two files and then copy the same to my latest firefox installed. is it correct.please tell me some profiles showed string default and release. is the release also a profile or not. Hi, co rel I have located the files thro shadow.explorer and found two files dated 11-4-2023 and a different date. I have selected the present new profile and copied the same to the profile folder after overwriting the existing ones. I just closed the firefox and then go to private and security settings to view my logins and passwords. It was empty. Am I miss anything The profile of april 2023 contain the passwords and it is not showing the passwords

When I opened, it opens toc: I browsed and it was a date on may 2023 and i copied those two files from the latest date shown on that . the top panel shows 14-5-2023. why it is showing. Is it the volume shadow copy of explorer on that day. Please give me clue to this.
