I had to reinstall Firefox yesterday because it kept crashing on my Mac (OS Mojave). Unfortunately I can't find the option to Restore All Tabs on Restart anywhere! I like to use multiple tabs all the time so this is a necessity for me.

Thank you for your help.

"Restore previous session" is the first checkbox on the Preferences page.

Without that, you need to use the menu, either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Restore Previous Session
  • (menu bar) History > Restore Previous Session

Do you have another computer running Firefox? This is what I was told when I lost all of my tabs.

This behavior is deliberate - the "synced tabs" feature is for showing tabs that you currently have open on other devices, and is not designed for viewing historical tabs from the current device.

I have since been bookmarking my tabs in case they go poof again.

Right-click on a tab and select "Bookmark all tabs" or hit Ctrl+Shift+D. Just like in Chrome, right-click on a tab and select "Bookmark All Tabs" or hit Ctrl+Shift+D. Click on the "View favorites" icon, then the "Add favorites" drop-down menu

Thank you all for your help! Much appreciated. I did not realise that it was the "Restore Previous Session" option which should be ticked.
