Upgrading windows 7 to 10 Bookmarks tab, autofills etc
Hi guys so since Windows 7 support has ended i have to upgrade someones laptop. Problem is im a little worried about things like his firefox bookmarks his autofill data etc (because this person for the life of him can't remember a few details.) They also don't have firefox sync enabled as of yet. To be safe i am making an image of the windows 7 machine in case something goes wrong but will upgrading from 7 to 10 keep these things or will i have to do something before that?

hi, if you're performing a windows in-place upgrade without clearing apps or files, all the firefox data should stay intact and the browser will stay the same way as before the upgrade.
when you have a backup, you're on the safe side - in case you'd need it, you can refer to Restore bookmarks, passwords, and data from an old Firefox profile to restore some firefox data from it.

The only folder i need to copy for backup is the one with the XXXXXXX.default right? Just in case? I did copy that folder from the appdata/roaming/mozilla folder
you can take a look in a running firefox under about:profiles what's the name of the current profile and where it is located - just in case i'd make a copy of the whole appdata/roaming/mozilla folder though.
