Flashing blue dot now appears and sites aren't loading

Strange behavior in recent days even though I've had version 18.1 (15719) on my phone for weeks if not months. I've often flicked back and forth between a site's desktop vs. mobile view depending on what I'm trying to see. Since yesterday, when I do so, a blue dot appears over the ellipsis that I click on to switch views. If I switch again, the dot may or may not go away. In some cases, it just flashes and won't even let go to the desired site, despite entering the correct URL in the address box. Any thoughts?

Just curious did you enable Hide images option? Further information: Hide Images in Firefox for iOS

I guess this is caused due to switching back and forth between desktop vs. mobile mode.
