How do I sync my thunderbird calendar with my outlook calendar. I need to see past, recurring and future events. I'm also not able to add events to thunderbird, it instead requires me to log into office365 to view the event.

Personally I would suggest you use a provider that offers open standards access to your calendar data. Microsoft do not.

However there is an add-on that provides access using Micrisift's proprietary data formats. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/tbsync/?src=search
