There you can define a very precise background color of your liking for new tabs :) Hope it helps! Reply here if you need help setting it up.

Thanks, DanielNL. I've just installed the extension. Now new tabs are black. :)

However, when I open links in a new tab, the tab will be a blinding white until the webpage loads. I'd love to know if there's a solution for this issue.

afaik no other workaround atm... :/ Ask developers, maybe they can improve this with some new Firefox build next year!

This is no longer working

Working fine for me in latest Firefox. Did you set something in the settings tab?

Not working, each new tab opened is white, and the below is enabled.
