Firefox freezes little changes after refresh

Geoff beantwortet

Like others I have had great problems with Firefox 57. It freezes and is very notchey. Sadly it effects my computer the same way even when closed. I am running core i7 with 16 gig of ram and Windows 10 64 bit.

I have done the refresh thing and tried starting with extensions disabled.

At the moment it is so bad I am using Vivaldi but would like to return to Firefox if we can fix it. So disappointed.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Thank you for such a fast response. I could only find Firefox files in Programme Files 86 - not in Programme Files. It seems to have freed the computer up but Firefox itself is little if any better. Do you have any other fixes?

Sorry to add, but the computer is still freezing.
