Whenever I turn my MacBook off or restart, the Thunderbird has turned into a question mark, and I can't open the application. I need to download it again, and it opens when I've done that, but it won't allow me to click on any emails, it just stays on the same screen.

Please update to MacOS 10.12.3 - it came out today.

I have done the update. This is when the problem started to occur. I've since turned off my two-facture authentication, seems to be helping.

two factor auth for your gmail account?
