I keep getting prompted at the bottom of the screen to "Refresh Firefox... to improve performance". I don't want to, it's working just fine, thanks :-)

hi MozzyBob, you can try this: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named browser.slowStartup.notificationDisabled. double-click it and change its value to true.
