Checking "Leave a copy of messages on server" did not prevent all of the messages from being removed from the server - this only happened with one of two accts

I set up 2 accounts and for the mattig88@gmail.com account, all of the emails that downloaded to TBird disappeared from the GMail server. However, the other account I set up, MattGuzzetta1@gmail.com, did not have this problem. "Leave messages on server" is selected by default and I verified it on both.

Yes - I have it set up on my iPhone but the same is true for the other account.
