I want to automatically restore tabs and windows when I reopen firefox
Previously, when I exited firefox all tabs and windows would open next time upon re-opening firefox - not any more in 31.0
How can i set thjis so this would be my default?

You can check the startup setting:
- Firefox > Preferences > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
Make sure that you close the Firefox application while windows that you want to restore are still open. If you close open windows and leave the menu bar then you would have to restore open windows/tabs via the History menu or via the button on the about:home page.
