The attachment icon is missing from the message display pane in incoming emails in Thunderbird. Before it was always displayed at the bottom of the window. I have 'Display Attachments Inline' checked and I also repaired the Inbox folder but still no icon visible. I am using the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird 151.0.

I've found out that on both Linux and Windows since the last update (154.0), the PDFs printed directly from the Thunderbird PDF viewer, prints out blank PDF.

To recreate this, open a PDF attachment in an email, simple double click on it, in the top right corner on the tool bar, press the little printer icon, choose either "Save as PDF" or print to the actual printer, in both cases, you will get one blank PDF page.

It used to be than when I received a T-Bird message with a PDF attachment, I could click on the attached filename and it would open with the application I had specified in Settings (Acrobat Pro). Now I click on it and nothing happens. This is very annoying because I work a lot with emailed PDF attachements. I've tried re-setting Acrobat as the default in Settings, but that brings no joy.

Suddenly since Friday 21.08.2026 morning every single person in our company started to call the IT department that their Thunderbird client is printing out blank pages (white pages) instead of attachments from emails.

What is happening -> Employee gets email with PDF attachment -> clicks to open it in thunderbird print preview -> prints -> blank page comes out.

What works -> Downloading the PDF and printing it. Opening the PDF in any other browser than Thunderbird and printing it.

No settings or updates were changed and it's a big issue affecting multiple computers.

What I tried doing -> Trying different printer (No fix), Resetting print settings in thunderbird (No fix). Trying other PDF attachments from older emails (No fix). Looking at print settings in windows (Which I didn't change since it only doesnt work in Thunderbird).

Problem is that on thunderbird in my office, This doesn't happen. We have the same versions and settings.

I tried opening the error console while opening the PDF and on computers where it doesnt work it shows me an error with along the lines of "This document is open in compability mode due to **** header <doctype html>" Something like that but i would have to check again.

I don't get this error on my personal PC.

Dzień dobry, Zgłaszam powtarzający się błąd w programie Thunderbird. Mam problem z drukowaniem załączników w formacie PDF bezpośrednio z okna wiadomości e-mail. Opis problemu: Podczas próby wydruku załącznika PDF, w oknie podglądu pojawia się czarny ekran z komunikatem, że aplikacja nie obsługuje podglądu. Po kliknięciu „Drukuj”, drukarka wypuszcza całkowicie puste, białe kartki. Środowisko: System operacyjny: Windows 11 Drukarka: Canon MF450 Series UFR II Ważne informacje: Drukarka jest w 100% sprawna. Drukowanie tych samych plików PDF po zapisaniu ich na dysku (przez przeglądarkę, Adobe Acrobat) działa bez najmniejszego problemu. Problem występuje wyłącznie wewnątrz Thunderbirda. Co już próbowałam zrobić (bez skutku): Uruchomienie programu w trybie rozwiązywania problemów (Safe Mode). Czyszczenie pamięci podręcznej (cache). Resetowanie ustawień profilu drukarki w Edytorze ustawień (usunięcie parametrów print_printer). Wymuszenie systemowego okna dialogowego przez zmianę print.prefer_system_dialog na true. Wyłączenie zaawansowanych funkcji drukowania w sterowniku Windows i zmiana trybu na rastrowy. Wygląda na to, że wbudowany silnik czytnika PDF w Thunderbirdzie przestał poprawnie komunikować się ze sterownikiem Canon UFR II. Będę wdzięczna za zbadanie tego błędu i pomoc, ponieważ drukowanie bezpośrednio z programu jest mi niezbędne do codziennej pracy. Z poważaniem, Alina

For years I have been using Thunderbird and supporting with donations and one of the important uses is being able to preview .pdf files and then quickly highlight and copy information from the pdf such as an invoice number so I can paste it into another document.

Now I can not do this - Why?

I am running 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11 - not that this should matter - clearly the issue is the update has chanced how .pdf's can be accessed.

Other issue is printing the pdf only prints a blank page

Incredibly frustrating - what is the issue and how do I fix it?

Something seems to have changed recently with the PDF rendering in Thunderbird. I received an email with a PDF file attached. When I view it on the screen it looks fine, but when printing it out from within Thunderbird part of the top of the first page missing; it looks like part of the image is behind a white rectangle.

When I save the file and print it using Acrobat Reader it renders fine.

I don't know what to make of this behavior, but it does seem to be new and there is a difference between how the file is printed from Thunderbird as opposed to printing using Adobe Reader.

Thunderbird 152.0.1 on Windows 11 PC.

For days now I have been unable to print Thunderbird email attachments. When I go to my gmail I can. I have contributed in the past but if this cannot be fixed asap I will be done with Thunderbird. I have really enjoyed it but this is a major bug.

When I try to print a PDF attachment it comes out as a blank sheet. This used to work OK. The print preview is fine. I have altered the settings to open PDFs in acrobat as a workaround. Any help appreciated.

Thunderbird for Android (unlike the standard Android Email) still does not offer the ability to shrink a photo before sending it. The workaround is so clunky, having to use an Android photo editor to shrink images one by one, especially if one wants to send multiple photos, saving each one and then going back to Thunderbird to send the smaller images. Any idea where this feature is in the development list?

I'd be v grateful for help as this problem's in an email needed for me to sue for libel.

I drafted an email containing >50 screenshots, but not as attachments. Current download speed 257Mb/s.

Looking at it just now, it's saved with many instances saying "may be an image of text that says" followed by a description. Or as attached.

I thought that if I sent it to myself it may display correctly, but it doesn't. There's no notification bar.

I have the following settings: • View > Display Attachments Inline: checked. • Privacy settings > Allow remote content in messages: checked (no exceptions).

All of a sudden I can't print attachments. Not sure if it was the recent update. I can print the email, just not any attachments. They print blank pages. I have to save the attachment to my desktop and then print it.

When I try to print an attachment using the mozilla app on my desk top computer. It only prints a blank page. I open the same attachment in gmail, it prints fine. Please help I like the app. Thank you Anthony

When I try to forward an email with an attachment on mobile I get an error that's not fully visible saying "Some attachments could not be forwarded because they have not be...' (I tried rotating the screen to see if it expands but it's the same unfortunately). It works fine on the desktop app, and it also works fine if I manually download the attachment and then draft an email and attach it.

Does anyone know if this is common, or how I can bypass it? I tried but couldn't find any info on this behavior.
