Hi,

I used to scroll up in current message using Shift+Space, but it stopped working for a few days now. it's not mentionned in moving around TB, so I don't know if it was normal behaviour or a feature added by TB's arch maintainer.

I am using Thunderbird on Windows, and I want to hide the yellow “Your privacy is protected” notification bar but still have the privacy protection enabled.

I tried to use a userChrome.css in my Thunderbird profile; here is the path; (C:\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\lz1po89m.default-release\chrome\userChrome.css). I also set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true, but the customization does not work.

If anyone can please help and/or advise me on the correct procedure or CSS selector for this version I would be very much appreciated.

In my one account in Thunderbird, I still have the old POP folders, that was a different account. I also have an IMAP account, both have the same address. The pop one does not work but the folders are there, I use them to look old mails up, so far so good. When I sent out an email with my IMAP account, the sent mail goes into the sent folder of the IMAP account, so far so good. BUT when I click on that sent mail and click on reply, it replies to the same address that what it already was sent to, now here comes the problem. THAT copy of the mail, I called the NEW sent, does not go into my sent folder. It goes directly into the sent folder of my old pop account. Even though everything on the IMAP account is standard, re-sent mails are not placed in the IMAP account sent folder. What am I doing wrong here, I know when writing the mail is that I can choose the send address and if I change that it goes in the IMAP sent folder but why is it standard on my old POP account, and why not on the IMAP account even though the IMAP is the standard?

Until a couple of days ago, I could single-click on a message and the contents would show up in a column in the same window. Now (presumably because of an upgrade to 156.0.1) this does not work. I have to double-click and then the message appears in a new window or tab ... which I then have to close. Very irritating! The earlier way meant that I could quickly scan through messages with far fewer clicks. Is this how it is now or is there a setting I could use to revert? On my other computer, I still have release 154.0 and I see the earlier (good!) behaviour! Help!

I've been using Thunderbird for about two months now and I just realized that Thunderbird (150.0.1) seems to be unable (or unwilling) to use some of the fonts that are on the computer (Windows 10, plenty of RAM and disk space).

Let me explain that I don't send a lot of emails, and most of the ones I do send are just a few lines so I had not had any reason to bother with the font -- the default font was fine -- until today...

Today my experience with fonts in Thunderbird was extremely disappointing. It started when I was composing an email and I copied/pasted some text from a web page into the email. Rather than treating the pasted text as simply text to have in the default font, Thunderbird put it in some strange font and size. This might have been Thunderbird's attempt to use the font from the website but neither the font nor the size resembled the text that I had copied/pasted. That was when I noticed that Thunderbird does not let you choose the actual size but only offers the choice to make text larger or smaller. Making the text smaller was sufficient for that particular time.

As I finished the email, I tried to sign my usual signature. Thunderbird lets you choose the font but once I had chosen the font that I routinely use for my signature, I discovered that Thunderbird totally ignores the choice that it just let you make. Instead of displaying the signature in the chosen font, it displayed my signature in a plain sanserif font.

I could live with a limited choice of fonts -- I have used another program where the only choices were serif and sanserif -- but I cannot understand why Thunderbird would offer a font choice menu that includes all my installed fonts when it actually only honors three choices. The only fonts reliably used seem to be some generic sanserif font that Tunderbird calls Helvetica/Ariel, a generic serif font that it calls Times and another serif font it calls Courier.

The dropdown menu lets me choose any of the fonts I have installed, some of them display properly while composing the email, others don't. If I send the email to another of my email addresses, Thunderbird displays the text the same way -- some fonts are correct and some fonts get replaced with one of Thunderbird's generic fonts.

I'd really like to have all my fonts available -- but that doesn't seem to be possible with Thunderbird so I guess I need to figure out which fonts Thunderbird is willing to use.

After several hours of trying to figure out why a folder didn't show certain messages, I realised that I had selected a Custom View a few days ago and it still applied quietly when I selected that folder. This is not the first time I fall for it. Is there a way TB would show that a Custom View filtered out some of the messages? Eg the Custom View button could be depressed, or the background in the messages pane would be different, or something. As it is now, I think I won't use the feature again and save myself hours of scratching my head in the future.

Hi, I have had Thunderstorm on my old laptop for several years, and Sent folder is visible and working. Now I installed Thunderstorm on my new laptop, and Sent folder won't show up. I deleted Thunderstorm on the old laptop and reinstalled and Sent folder visible again. I've checked a lot of tips on this and followed them, please see screen dump below. All settings between old and new laptop look the same except the advice "Under place a copy in, choose the Sent folder" where it in my old one is checked with second option "Other place" and set on "myname/Infolder/Sent". When I move the mouse over "myname" and "Infolder" and then "Sent" appears and may be chosen. In my new laptop first option is set as default, and second option is available with "myname/Infolder", but "Sent" folder with its airplane icon is not visible and can't be chosen. Anyone know what to do? I appreciate all comments. Best regards, Torbjorn

I have no idea what happened to my Thunderbird. I think it might have been an update, because all of my folders are not where they were, everything in the folders are sorted by groups like today, or older. I noticed a bunch of my emails are now in folders marked as a Userfolder#. The emails it contains are those that normally should be in a properly named folder, only those named folders are grayed out. Another issue is that when i try to open an email, it opens it as if I want to reply to it. If I just want to read the email, I have to right click on the email and select open to read it. I have 2 spam folders, no idea why, nothing saves to my draft folder I found out today, I just dont know what happened! I dont think I did anything but I dont know now, as Im beginning to doubt myself. It's been this way for a few days.

If I type a date for example 24th October, Thunderbird changes what I type to T4th, if I type 22nd, it changes to N2nd, the 5th becomes Tth and so on, I have tried all sorts but I cannot find a fix apart from typing the 22 then leave a space, type th then go back and delete the space, then I have what I want. Also if I press ctrl+B to type in Bold, and let's say I type R9.88, the program changes that to a capital B, and dumps my cursor in the next line, again I have tried all sorts and can't get that fixed.

Lastly, I have done my signature using Account Settings, Signature Text, I have ticked the "Use HTML" and typed my text in three lines, my signature shows as a single line with only a space between.

Can you give guidance and solutions please

A vertical blue line/bar has appeared between the folder icon and the folder name. I can change the icon colour in properties for a folder but the blue bar stays blue. It is blue regardless of the state of messages in the folder (whether read or unread). Is it possibly related to the bug where Thunderbird tries to update every time I open T? But help says T is up to date. The blue line does not appear on my wife's Thunderbird running the same software version under a different profile. It is very annoying not knowing why it is there and what it means. Thanks

It appears that when I invert the sorting order of messages by Date, it does not affect the order of messages in a threaded conversation.

Is this deliberate or a known issue?

Any solution to sort everything with the newest messages at the top, that is: - Messages - And messages within a thread

Thunderbird by design changes Outlook deleted folder to trash.

Problem with this is that you end up with 2 trash folders.

One for Thunderbird and one from Outlook.

Chnage this so Thunderbird does not change Outlook deleted folder name.

Thunderbird normally displays the number of messages in a folder, near the top of the screen above the list of messages. But somehow, clicking around, I lost that display of the message count and cannot get it back. Wondering if anyone knows how to get that number back, get it show up near the top of the screen. I'm using version 156.0.
