Every solution which I have found for Firefox 89 "Proton" so far which moves the Tabs Bar below the Navigation Bar (AKA "address bar"), with the Menu Bar above it, does NOT move the Tabs Bar below the Bookmarks Bar. The Bookmarks Bar appears to be overwritten and blank, and occupies space below the Menu Bar, Navigation Bar, and Tabs Bar. This empty space separates the three bars which are implemented and the content of the currently-selected tab below it.

Currently, my userChrome.css file is a copy posted by Corel-10 (?): __________________________________________________________________________________________________

Evidently, the text editor for this website does several things to the above original text that, frankly, seem unnecessary and undesirable. The .CSS file is just an unformatted text file, so what is the problem with simply copying its contents and pasting it in to the body of this post?

Which is also to say that I do NOT have a clue as to what any line in the file is meant to do, what effect it has, why it is even in the file at all, or why it is written in the way that it is. So DO NOT tell me that I "CAN" create a Cascading Style Sheet on my own when I cannot even modify one that has been provided.

On the face of it, something is missing from the above CSS text. What change needs to be made to the above content so that the Bookmark Bar will appear between the Navigation Bar and the Tabs Bar??

Thank-you very much for your time and attention to this request for assistance.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox (89.0) on both of my Windows 7 computers as well as on my iPhone. I have this really annoying glitch where I'll bookmark a page, and Firefox will occasionally duplicate that bookmark hundreds of times. I've gone in and deleted the duplicates, but then the problem re-occurs, so I'm trying to figure out how to finally fix this! I've already spent several hours looking through your help forums and trying to fix it, but nothing seems to work. Here's what I've done:

I turned off sync on all my devices. I also noticed that I had the iCloud synch extension on one of my computers, so I removed that, since I read that might cause some issues. Then I went and cleaned up the bookmarks on one of my computers, deleting all the duplicate entries, and I exported an HTML version of my bookmarks to my computer and also created a backup .json file. I refreshed Firefox on that computer. And I changed my sync password, since I read somewhere that that would supposedly force my old data to be deleted from Firefox's server.

Then I turned sync back on on that one computer, hoping that the latest version of my bookmarks that were on that computer would now update to Firefox's server. But instead of replacing the old bookmarks file in the cloud, it simply added back the old duplicate bookmarks to my computer (which apparently never got deleted from Firefox servers, despite the password change). Super frustrating. Isn't there a way to force a one-way sync, so the version of the bookmarks file that I have locally -- which has the latest changes -- takes priority??

I then tried going to "Import bookmarks from HTML," hoping that the version I had previously saved would replace this bad, outdated version I had downloaded from the server, but that didn't seem to do anything (I guess import only adds new bookmarks but doesn't delete existing bookmarks?). Could I import the json file instead? If so, how do I do that? I've considered deleting all my bookmarks and then importing the html file again to see if that fixes it, but it looks like the html file doesn't include the bookmarks on my toolbar. Is that correct? If so, I don't want to lose them.

Not sure what this is so glitchy and so difficult to fix. Can someone please help?

Since the upgrade I have not been able to access sites I have used in Firefox for years. All the sites are at shockwave.com, such as https://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/the-daily-snoop-a-hidden-object-game.jsp. I contacted Shockwave but they have no idea, just telling me to disable my add-ons such as ad blockers. That's no solution because (1) I've always had the same add-ons enabled and (2) the same add-ons do not affect MS Edge.

I attached a screen shot of the page I now see in Firefox and what it should look like.

Does anyone have a suggestion to resolve this issue within Firefox?

Thanks.

Firefox just up-dated itself to latest version after 88.01. And now, while the google search box appears in the centre of my homepage, like it has always done, as soon as I start typing into it, the search defaults to that horrible Chrome-like search bar at the top of the screen. How do Istop this? Or can I revert to my much loved earlier?

I'm running Windows 7. I have Webroot SecureAnywhere. Starting immediately after I upgraded to Firefox Version 89.0, whenever I go to a site, and open a picture, the picture loads from the top down (as it is supposed to, I think). But- now it loads slowly (prior to upgrading to FF Version 89.0, it loaded instantaneously), and it starts loading from the top in white, as the picture "fills in." ('Wish I could take a screen shot, but- by the time I open screen snip, the picture has already loaded.) I don't have my hardware accelerator enabled. I tried safe mode. In safe mode, this doesn't occur. Also, when I use Internet Explorer, this problem does not occur. Again- this problem started IMMEDIATELY after I upgraded to FF Version 89.0. NO other changes to my computer before this problem began. What is the problem? Thanks, for any help.

Strona Wizzair. Windows 7 prof, Firefox 89.0 (64 bity)

Hello community,

I had some problems with my internet connection. Youtube streams changed frequently their video quality. So I wanted to look up my downstream. To do that I have look into my browser and type the URL "http://fritz.box" into it.

The message I got was that this is not possible anymore (uploaded pic). I had to do it with Google Chrome. That's a disgrace for Mozilla.

I hope it will be possible soon again to surf into my router UI.

Sincerely yours

Mario

My google searching is leaving me at a loss here. I did something and the taskbar at the bottom of the web browser is now covered by the browser. Not the bar at the top, the bar at the bottom that has whatever other programs you're running listed in multiple tabs. Every single damn search is leading to how to mess with the task/toolbar at the top of the freakin page. I can make it reappear if I press the windows button or open another program, but while in Firefox it's not visible. The top taskbar, bookmarks, and all are still there so it's not in full page mode. I know the fix is probably ctrl and some other button somewhere but what?

Netflix quit working today. It said my browser version was no longer supported. I updated from v.86 to v.89. It looks like crap. New tab + icon is gone. "tab bar" is not transparent or dark mode. And guess what: Netflix still doesn't work. That's probably their problem but now I have no Netflix, weird crap on the whatever bar, add-on icons are gone, and this big gaudy tab bar.

How do I rollback to a previous version? I'd rather not have excuses or sales pitches as to why 89 is better from the newer-is-better crowd. For me 89 is NOT better.

So, how do I rollback to a previous version?

For months I have noticed that about 25% of the time, when I click on Google News, Firefox loads less than half of the page. It loads the"Headlines" section, the "For You" section, and the "U.S." section and then stops loading but displays the spinning circle icon at the bottom of the page. At times if I reload the page it will load the full page, most of the time it just repeats the same behavior.

This happens on two similar Windows 7 systems (fully updated) with an always up to date version of Firefox (currently 89.0). When this happens I usually switch to Microsoft Edge and it loads fine every time.

Does anyone else experience this? If so, did you find a solution?

I am not sure if this might be a Firefox problem, a Google problem, or my problem, but I am starting here first.

Sometimes there's a delay in a website being recognized and log in info filled in, sometimes its never recognized like just now with accounts.firefox.com yet its in my Passwords. URL was checked and was identical in both. You'd think Firefox would recognize firefox.com!

Sometimes it fills in the password after I have entered the username. This is for sites like Firefox.com that don't have the username and password on one page but sometimes its happened when both are on the same page. But shouldn't it recognize the username or does it have to have both on the page? Is there any way of making these types of pages work properly? This is not high security. As if I could care less what people read or know what I'm posting in a forum like this on the operation of a browser.

New windows sometimes have previous URL's in them even though I've set them to open Blank in Settings. Once these open sometimes I cannot type a new URL. Nothing happens after using Alt_D which usually highlights the Address Bar for entry of a new URL. I can't even highlight it by clicking with my mouse. Its like its locked into the previous address. The last one was a bank. And I can't even open a new tab from this window. Control_T opens a new tab in the original window defeating the whole purpose of segregating your work in different windows so you can group numerous tabs.
