Hotmail does not work. How do I fix it?

For a couple of months now I'd say, hotmail does not respond when I open it in Firefox. I can click on folders and items in the Inbox, but it does not allow me to actually enter those items or folders, nor does it allow me to do anything other than sit and look at it!

I can access Hotmail fine on a different browser, so the problem is certainly related to Firefox. I have tried googling the problem and have encountered the same problem described in relation to a previous update, but no fix was offered beyond waiting for another update to the browser. I have tried to clear cookies and cache, but that did nothing other than oblige me to enter all my passwords again and did not fix the problem.
